As a Pipe Laborer you play a key role in assisting and providing manual labor for pipe laying, underground utilities and excavation construction on various types of projects, under the direction of the Project Foreman.  You will perform a variety of tasks such as hand digging, loading & unloading materials, laying pipe, assisting the entire crew on the project, run parts and flagging.  Will also operate small equipment such as compressors, pumps, saws, and compaction equipment.  It is your responsibility to maintain safe practices while working on projects and be well aware of your surroundings.  Pipe Laborer will play a key role in the day-to-day operations and efficiency of the crew, by working hard to assist the Project Foreman in the completion of the project.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting Project Foreman and crew with laying pipe in trenches, attaching laterals, fittings, valves and curb inlets, as well as general excavation and grading.
  • You will be required to perform other general tasks including hand digging with a shovel and various tools, greasing & cleaning the equipment and jobsite, sweeping, loading & unloading of equipment and materials, and flagging.
  • Required to operate and maintain small equipment and tools, such as pumps, generators, compactors and saws.
  • Drive a company vehicle to gather parts for the jobsite.

Requirements:

The Pipe Foreman plays a key role in the excavation of underground utility construction, mostly waterlines, sewer lines, storm drain and dry utility trenching, subdivision development, and other various types of projects, working under the direction of the Construction Manager while maintaining safe jobsite protocols. Lead crew to execute a successful construction project to ensure that we deliver quality work in a timely manner according to plans and timelines and to manage all aspects of the crew, efficiency, safety and maintenance of assigned jobs and equipment. It is important in this role to build and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
  • Ultimately responsible for planning and safely executing all construction activities on assigned job sites.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Mechanic. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operations and efficiency of the company, by keeping the field trucks and equipment in good working condition. Ensures that all equipment, including small equipment, fleet vehicles and heavy trucks are assessed and repaired accordingly within a reasonable time frame and ensures that repairs and preventive maintenance are accurate and complete. Completion of all work orders accurately and timely is a vital part of the maintenance and repair process.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct in shop and on-site field visits to assess and run diagnostics on equipment, trucks & vehicles and complete all repairs and maintenance for said items the shop and in the field.
  • Carry out routine maintenance procedures, services, greasing, etc. on all equipment, trucks and vehicles.
  • Complete work orders and all other paperwork accurately to track repairs and maintenance on the equipment and vehicles. This includes taking before and after photos. The job is not complete until the paperwork is complete.
  • Request parts and materials from the Shop Foreman and staying on top of and in communication with them to ensure timely delivery of items needed to complete the work.
  • Work with Shop Foreman to document and return any unused parts and ensure credits are received. Make Shop Foreman aware of any parts that were ordered incorrectly, or arrived in unsatisfactory condition.
  • Track all inventory items used, and inform Shop Foreman when items are low. This includes cores that need to be returned.
  • Keep an accurate log of all work performed and report to the Shop Foreman, including warranty information on parts and repairs.
  • Keep all equipment, parts and tools in a clean and organized manner for a clean and smooth return.
  • Work closely with the Shop Foreman to schedule jobs according to priority, ensure that crew foreman and other staff are aware of the schedule, and notify the Shop Foreman and operator as soon as each job is complete.
  • Collaborate with other staff to troubleshoot issues and concerns.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures and work to ensure the safety of others, including the safety of the equipment and vehicles.
  • Attend regular 1:1 with Shop Foreman to review status of projects.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Shop Foreman or Executive Board.
Requirements:
  • Complete understanding of the operation, maintenance, servicing, trouble shooting and repairs necessary on heavy trucks, heavy equipment, pick-up trucks and small tools and equipment.
  • Course completion in advanced career training or equivalent work experience in Diesel/Heavy Duty Equipment, Advanced Automotive, and/or Basic Hydraulics.
  • Specialty ASE certifications are a plus, such as A Series, C1, E Series, F1, G1, L1, L2, P Series, T Series, X1, as well as Ford, Cummins, Cat, Volvo, Komatsu, Mack, Case, Freightliner, Peterbuilt, Kenworth, International, Massey Ferguson, John Deere, Farm Equipment and other Implements.
  • Experience in diagnostics on heavy equipment and trucks.

Purpose: The Shop Assistant plays a key role in assisting the Fleet Manager, Shop Foreman and other staff by washing all heavy trucks and equipment, cleaning the shop and yard, assisting with picking up parts and making returns, light services and repairs, and any other tasks the Fleet Manager and Shop Foreman assign.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Washing all heavy trucks and equipment
  • Pickup parts for shop and make returns.
  • Run Errands for shop.
  • Clean shop and yard.
  • Take vehicles to get emission testing as assigned by Shop Manager.
