Description: Marriott Construction, a division of Marriott Companies, has been a leader in excavation, underground utility installation and residential land development for over 45 years. Our mission is to constantly seek areas of growth and innovation in all aspects of our business, apply the highest standards of service, operational excellence, reliability, and safety to our customers and employees by staying true to our core values and providing opportunities for personal and professional development for our employees. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Pipe Laborer.As a Pipe Laborer you play a key role in assisting and providing manual labor for pipe laying, underground utilities and excavation construction on various types of projects, under the direction of the Project Foreman. You will perform a variety of tasks such as hand digging, loading & unloading materials, laying pipe, assisting the entire crew on the project, run parts and flagging. Will also operate small equipment such as compressors, pumps, saws, and compaction equipment. It is your responsibility to maintain safe practices while working on projects and be well aware of your surroundings. Pipe Laborer will play a key role in the day-to-day operations and efficiency of the crew, by working hard to assist the Project Foreman in the completion of the project.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Assisting Project Foreman and crew with laying pipe in trenches, attaching laterals, fittings, valves and curb inlets, as well as general excavation and grading.
- You will be required to perform other general tasks including hand digging with a shovel and various tools, greasing & cleaning the equipment and jobsite, sweeping, loading & unloading of equipment and materials, and flagging.
- Required to operate and maintain small equipment and tools, such as pumps, generators, compactors and saws.
- Drive a company vehicle to gather parts for the jobsite.
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies of the company.
- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Any and all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Valid Driver License and dependable transportation to the jobsites, as well as proper clothing for the environment.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, crouch, use fingers and hands to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
- Must be able to lift &/or carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
- Required to work outside in all of the elements with constant exposure to dirt, dust, and outdoor temperatures for up to 10 hours a day, along with direct sunlight and exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
- Willingness to work overtime, after hours, weekends, and on-call for emergencies.
- OSHA 10-hour
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- 6+ months experience laying pipe with general excavation experience in wet/dry utilities.
- Basic understanding of underground utility, laying pipe, general construction, trucking and equipment

You will perform a variety of tasks such as hand digging, loading & unloading materials, laying pipe, assisting the entire crew on the project, run parts and possible flagging. Will also operate small equipment such as compressors, pumps, saws, and compaction equipment. It is your responsibility to maintain safe practices while working on projects and be well aware of your surroundings. Pipe Laborer will play a key role in the day-to-day operations and efficiency of the crew, by working hard to assist the Project Foreman in the completion of the project.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Perform a variety of tasks while operating a loader and other small equipment such as compressors, pumps, saws, and compaction equipment.
- Assist the project foreman and other crew members with attaching laterals, fittings, valves and curb inlets and lay pipe into trenches.
- Responsible for inspecting, grease, clean and maintaining the equipment you are using.
- To provide materials to the foreman for the project, loading trucks with materials, and handling and moving materials
- Assisting foreman and crew with laying pipe in trenches, attaching laterals, fittings, valves and curb inlets, as well as general excavation, and grading.
- Required to perform other general tasks including but not limited to; hand digging with a shovel and various tools, greasing & cleaning the equipment and jobsite, sweeping, loading & unloading of equipment and materials, and flagging.
- Required to operate and maintain small equipment and tools, such as pumps, generators, compactors, and saws.
- Occasionally drive a company vehicle to gather parts for the jobsite.
- Maintain safe practices while working on projects and be well aware of your surroundings, embracing safe working habits and being aware of conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies of the company.
- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons, vehicles, objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Perform daily walk-around inspection of equipment to ensure that all components are in safe working condition, ensure there are no leaks, and that the teeth, cutting edges and buckets are in good working condition, as well as grease the entire machine and check tires, per daily checklist.
- Attend regular 1:1 with Supervisor to review status of projects
- All other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor or Executive Board.
- Basic understanding of construction sites, plans, trucking, and heavy equipment
- 5+ years of experience working as a loader operator, working for a general excavation company in wet/dry utilities is necessary.
- Experience and knowledge of operating various types of utility trucks, heavy equipment and tools in a safe manner.
- Ability to read and understand plans, cuts & fills, grading, site surveys and other related information.
- Valid Driver License and dependable transportation to the jobsites, as well as proper clothing for the environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Pipe Foreman.The Pipe Foreman plays a key role in the excavation of underground utility construction, mostly waterlines, sewer lines, storm drain and dry utility trenching, subdivision development, and other various types of projects, working under the direction of the Construction Manager while maintaining safe jobsite protocols. Lead crew to execute a successful construction project to ensure that we deliver quality work in a timely manner according to plans and timelines and to manage all aspects of the crew, efficiency, safety and maintenance of assigned jobs and equipment. It is important in this role to build and maintain professional relationships.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Ultimately responsible for planning and safely executing all construction activities on assigned job sites.
- Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate all construction activities and crew engaged in the project.
- Perform a variety of tasks such as operating the track hoe to install pipe, loaders and backhoes, rollers, compactors, water trucks and sweepers.
- Ensure all equipment is being serviced and properly maintained and coordinate with staff & Shop Manager for scheduling.
- Ensure all compliance protocols are in place by maintaining safe working habits, conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies of the company.
- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement, staying aware of surrounding areas.
- Coordinate with Office Manager on all trucking and transport needs.
- Clear, grub, cut, fill, grade, compact, excavate, etc the project site and materials for the foreman on the project, as well as handling and moving materials around.
- Assist the crew with other various duties pertaining to the project.
- Perform other general tasks including but not limited to; hand digging with a shovel and various tools, greasing & cleaning the equipment and jobsite, sweeping, loading & unloading of equipment and materials, etc.
- Operate and maintain small equipment and tools, such as pumps, compressors, saws, lasers, etc.
- Build relationships with vendors, clients, and prospective clients.
- Daily update call with supervisor and communication with other managers as needed.
- Weekly 1:1 meeting with a member of the Construction Manager.
- All other tasks as assigned by the Construction Manager.
- 5+ years’ experience in operating an excavator to lay waterlines, sewer lines, storm drain and other underground utilities.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications as well as a technical understanding of construction means and methods, operation of pipe lasers, saws and other pipe laying tools and equipment.
- OSHA 10-hour certification.
- Physical Ability to stand, sit, bend, crouch, use fingers and hands to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
